The Pollinator Power Party is a massive online YouTube party celebrating pollinators and their relationship to energy generation founded by EPRI’s Jessica Fox.
People around the world are becoming aware of the importance of pollinators in their daily lives. From the food we eat to the art we enjoy, bees, butterflies, and birds are integrated into our lives in more ways that we realize. The declines in pollinator populations are causing global concern. While power companies may not be the primary cause of pollinator decline, they are interested in being part of the solution! There is an opportunity for electric power companies to work together on joint efforts that result in greater benefit than can be accomplished alone.
As a non-profit research institute with a public benefit commitment, EPRI provides this unique collaborative platform and is leading progressive work that supports power companies, the public, and pollinators themselves. EPRI’s Jessica Fox is the founder of the Pollinator Power Party and invited Prof. Rebecca R. Hernandez to “join” in on the party as a guest speaker at the 2023 Pollinator Power Party Day Two: Solutions: Getting More Done at Once – Energy, Carbon, Habitat. In 2018, Jessica Fox launched the EPRI Power-in-Pollinators Initiative, which is now the largest effort in North America for electric power companies to collaborate on pollinator conservation research and projects. Previously, Fox led EPRI’s Energy Sustainability Interest Group from 2011 through 2016 to become the largest collaborative forum in the industry to advance critical issues related to sustainable electricity.
